At least four types of Overseas Filipino Workers were identified during the validation and presentation of the research paper, “Typology of Returning OFWs: Phase 1 (Asia),” done by both the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) and the National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) last December 21, 2016  at Hotel Jen, Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

Participants included staff from NRCO Central Office and their regional coordinators who participated in the study, along with ILS staff who were involved in the conduct of the said research.

Manila – The Interagency Committee for Research and Statistical Matters recently held its 1st Strategic Planning Session last November 24-25 at the Bayleaf Hotel, in Intramuros, Manila.

The two-day event was organized by the Committee Secretariat, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) led by its OIC-Executive Director Ma. Celeste M. Valderrama and ILS’ Advocacy and Publications Division (APD).

Valderrama, presented a Stock Taking of the DOLE Inter-Agency Committee on Research and Statistical Matters’ (IAC-RSM) Accomplishments during its recently concluded 1st Strategic Planning Session last November 24-25 at the Bayleaf Hotel, Intramuros, Manila.

The Institute for Labor Studies joined the celebration of World Day Against Child Labor (WDACL) last 8 November 2016 at St. Scholastica’s College, Manila. With a local theme “Walang Batang Naaabuso sa Paggawa ng Produkto,” the event underscored the importance of ending child labor in the supply chains.
