Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies successfully organized the 2017 DOLE Research Conference with the theme “Incisive, Innovative and Significant Researches for a Strong, Prosperous and Stable Life of the Filipino Worker,” last December 12-13 at the Hotel Jen, Roxas Blvd, Manila.

In his Opening Remarks, Assistant Secretary Avila thanked Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III for approving the six-year DOLE Research Agenda which will serve as a guide for the Department in conducting researches that will be the basis for policy formulation

Manila – The Gender and Development (GAD) Committee of the Institute for Labor Studies successfully led a Technical Learning Session (TLS) titled, “Learning Session on Gender-responsive Planning and Budgeting Principles and Tools” last December 14 at the iLearn Conference Room, in Intramuros, Manila.

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies retains its ISO 9001:2008 Certification for 2017 after it passed its first surveillance audit conducted by representatives from AJA Registrars, Inc. last December 18 at the iLearn Conference Room in Intramuros, Manila.

The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) welcomes eleven (11) On-the-Job-Trainees (OJT) for October 2017-March 2018.

Under the ILS Internship Program (INTERNi), the following students have been accepted: Deborah Delbre Calip, Liezel Anne Niel, Christia Mae Paris (BS Business Economics-Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila); Arvin Castelo, Michelle Kimberly Mae Mata, Nokie Jovel Eulalio (BSBA Financial Management-Colegio de San Juan de Letran); Paula Mikhaela Arias, Irish Mae Dantes, Zyrrah Angelica Miravite, Myril Pauline Reglos, Hansella Selfa (AB International Studies-University of the East).

The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) participated in a two-day awareness-raising workshop on “R204 - Transition from the Informal to the Formal Economy Recommendation, 2015 (No. 204)” or the recommendation concerning the transition from the informal to the formal economy organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the National Anti-poverty Commission-Workers in the Informal Sector (NAPC-WIS) from 29 November to 1 December held at the City State Hotel in Ermita, Manila.
