The Institute for Labor Studies, through its Acting Deputy Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba, attended the 4th National Career Advocacy Congress (NCAC), hosted by the Department of Labor and Employment DOLE) Region V Bicol, held at The Oriental Hotel in Legazpi City, Albay, Bicol on May 24-25, 2018.

The Department of Labor and Employment  Inter-Agency Committee on Research and Statistical Matters (DOLE-IAC-RSM) held its 2nd Quarter Meeting on 8 May 2018 at  the iLearn Conference Room of the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) in Intramuros, Manila.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) met with leaders of different labor groups and employers’ representatives during a forum discussing policies, practices and issues on multi-employer bargaining held on 11 May 2018 at the Ramada Hotel in Binondo, Manila.

The forum looked into the applicability of multi-employer bargaining with industries, type of workers and bargaining units within the context of emerging forms of work arrangements.

Last May 17, 2018, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS), headed by Acting Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba, planted trees in the Shilan Communal Forest in Barangay Shilan, La Trinidad, Benguet as part of the Institute’s contribution to the Green Our DOLE Program (GODP) of the Department of Labor and Employment, and also of the Greening Program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

“If it is not documented, it did not happen,” was the opening statement of Ms. Joy Famador, the resource speaker of the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) for its Documentation Training conducted on 09 March 2018 at iLearn Conference Room, 5th Floor DOLE Building Intramuros,  Manila..
