The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) attended the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) training on Recruitment, Selection and Placement (RSP) System on 13-14 February 2018 at CSC Training Room, CSC Building, Constitution Hills, Quezon City.

Manila, Philippines – Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Undersecretary for Workers Protection, Human Resource, and Internal Auditing Services Cluster Ciriaco A. Lagunzad gave his approval on the Institute for Labor Studies research titled, “Labor and employment governance in a ‘Federal Philippines’: A Policy Delphi-Survey study” by ILS during the paper’s presentation last February 6, 2019 at the iLearn Conference Room in Intramuros, Manila.

The theme for the 6th Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Research Conference reflects the thrust that the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) has taken: “Incisive, Innovative, and Significant Researches for a Strong, Prosperous and Stable Life of the Filipino Worker.”

Six participating Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE regional offices presented their prototypes for the DOLE-ILS Design Thinking Olympics challenge held last November 28 at iLearn conference room in Intramuros, Manila.

The report by the Institute for Labor Studies on the latest available Labor Force Survey (LFS) highlighted decent work gains in terms of generating quality employment based on the October 2017 LFS round. The underemployment rate eased considerably by 2.1 percentage points (ppts) from 18.0% to 15.9%, which has been a record low since October 2006.
