Manila, PH – Researchers from the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) are currently in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, together with representatives from the National Reintegration Center for Overseas Filipino Workers (NRCO) to conduct Phase 2 of the research titled, “A Typology of OFWs Returning Home: A Survey Study on the Return and Reintegration of OFWs.”
Under the ILS Internship Program (INTERNi), the following students have been accepted this April and are expected to finish their internship by June 2017: Lavinia Lyka P. Alvarez (Adamson University-BSBA Business Economics); Kathleen C. Aquino (Adamson University-BSBA Business Economics); John Calvin C. Espallardo (Adamson University-BSBA Financial Management); Ulysses B. Guevarra (Bulacan State University-BS Information Technology); Leandro Miguel V. Novero (Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Bachelor in Public Administration); and Dominique E. Cachuela (Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan AB International Studies).
Manila, PH – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) inaugurates its Lactation Room to provide privacy for the working mothers of the Institute who are still breastfeeding their young last April 19 at the ILS office in Intramuros, Manila.
ILS OIC-Executive Director Mary Grace L. Riguer, together with the officers of the ILS Gender and Development Committee (ILS-GAD) and other employees of the Institute, led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, following the unveiling of its updated Mission and Vision statement.

ILS OIC-Executive Director Mary Grace L. Riguer, OIC–Deputy Executive Director Brenalyn Peji, and ILSEA President Patrick Patriwirawan unveiled the updated ILS Mission, Vision, and its Core Values summed up as I–EPIC, which stands for Integrity, Excellence, Public Service, Innovation, and Compassion.
Institute for Labor Studies researchers Maria Isabel Artajo, Paulina Kim Pacete and Stephanie Flores presented their research proposal for the process evaluation of the Social Amelioration Program in the Sugar Industry - Socio-economic Program Related Fund (SAP-SEP) and tracer study of the SAP-SEP's Education Assistance Program (EDAP) during the first meeting of the National Sugar Tripartite Council (STC) for 2017 in Dumaguete City last March 24, 2017.
