The Institute for Labor Studies sent Supervising Administrative Officer Benita A Cortez and Administrative Officer Yumi L. Baluyut to the “Seminar Workshop on HRD Policies and Programs for the New Human Resource Management Officers (HRMO) and HRMO-Designate” on 14-18 August 2017at The Bayleaf Hotel in Governor’s Drive, General Trias, Cavite.

The Institute for Labor Studies has set to work on producing legislative analytics on the DOLE Priority Legislative Agenda as part of its mandate to provide efficient and effective research support to the Department.

On August 9, 2017, ILS employees planted five hundred (500) saplings of sweet tamarind, custard apple and salamander (bignay) saplings at the Mt. Arayat National Park with assistance from Mr. Ray Nunez of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Region III.

Headed by OIC-Executive Director Atty. Mary Grace L. Riguer, the said undertaking has become part of the Institute’s Green Our DOLE Program (GODP) initiatives.

Manila, Philippines – Former Bureau of Workers with Special Conditions Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba is named as the new Acting Executive Director of the Institute for Labor Studies.

With her assumption as the Acting Executive Director, Atty. Mary Grace L. Riguer will resume her post as the Deputy Executive Director III.

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) researches titled, “A Study on Mine Safety and Working Conditions in the Metallic and Non-Metallic Small-Scale Mining Sector in the Philippines,” and “An In-depth Study on Mine Safety and Working Conditions in Large Scale Mining Sector in the Philippines,” are on its final leg of research field work and are slated to be completed by the first week of September this year.
