Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) management, headed by Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba, conducted a series of online Management Review via the Zoom platform last May 10, 17 and 25, 2021.
The discussion covered the following: 1.) Review of Quality Management System (QMS) structure; 3.) Changes in QMS Committee Membership; and 4.) Review of Processes for Enrolment in QMS; 5) Client Satisfaction Report; and 6.) QMS Performance.
Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies commenced its annual iGov Talks series last May 11, via the online meeting platform Zoom, featuring ILS working papers on Social Protection.
The said activity was attended by representatives from the Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), Social Security System (SSS), and League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP).
Manila – Acting Chief of the Employment Research Division, John Emmanuel Villanueva, presented his Master of Public Administration (MPA) thesis on political dynasties during the "Spatial Dimension of Sustainable Development" Session of the 13th World Congress of the Regional Science Association International (RSAI) held on 28 May 2021.
Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies’ (ILS) Gender and Development (GAD) Committee and the Institute’s Mental Health Working Group have lined up month-long online activities for all its employees in celebration of the Mental Health Awareness Month this May.
GAD Chair Arianne Ishreen Bucar and MH Working Group lead Ronell Delerio proposed a series of activities to help raise awareness about mental health in the workplace and provide a platform for building a safe space (i.e. sense of psychological safety) where ILS staff can continue to thrive.
Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies, in partnership with the DOLE Planning Service (PS) and the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE), led the Sectoral Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) for Workers: Informal Sector, Women, Youth, & Platform Workers via the Zoom platform last April 15.
The said FGD is a component of the more comprehensive Joint Task Group on Economic Recovery (TGER) and National Employment Recovery Strategy (NERS) 2021-2022 Task Force Job Summit, in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), International Labour Organization (ILO), and The World Bank (WB) and runs from April to May of 2021.
