Manila - The Institute of Labor Studies, consistent with its commitment of bridging research, policy and practice, conducted a training for its employees through an orientation by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) on its Whole-of-Government (WOG) Reengineering Manual held on May 14, 2024 via the Zoom platform.

The research teams of the eight target studies by the Institute for Labor Studies are now in their data-gathering phase with surveys and focused-group discussions conducted in various regions of the country.

Manila - The Institute conducted a two-day learning session and workshop involving the management and the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) on the development of a six-year gender and development (GAD) agenda as required in the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Memorandum Circular No. 2018-04.

The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) has once again secured an unmodifed opinion’ from the Commission on Audit (COA) for its 2023 Financial Audit Report. This marks the 12th consecutive year that the Institute has received the recognition.

1. In recent months, bills proposing a nationally legislated across-the-board wage increase for workers in the private sector, ranging from Php 100.00 per day to Php 750.00 per day, have been filed and deliberated in both houses of Congress. These bills seek to amend or repeal the current system of increasing wages for employees in private establishments, which Congress established in 1989 through Republic Act No. 6727, otherwise known as the Wage Rationalization Act.
